Description:
Merk Investments LLC, the Authority on Currencies™ and manager of the Merk Mutual Funds, seeks an External Wholesaler/Vice President of Sales to join our dynamic and growing team. The Wholesaler/VP of Sales will be responsible for business development, sales strategies and driving the growth of assets under management. The incumbent will work with financial advisors and institutional investors nationwide to market Merk's suite of mutual funds. The job requires the ability to establish credibility, build rapport and manage new and existing relationships in an effort to increase and maintain assets under management. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of sales success and well-established relationships with an extensive list of contacts.
The ideal candidate will have substantial client facing and consultative sales experience within the mutual fund industry (5 years +) and a proven track record of sales success. A working knowledge of mutual funds is a must, as is the ability to effectively communicate investment strategy and process. She/He will have the ability to work independently with a great level of autonomy. The position requires a substantial amount of travel throughout the U.S.
Key responsibilities and proficiencies include (but are not limited to):
- Must have proven track record of sales success and experience selling mutual funds
- Capable of creating new relationships and strengthening existing relationships
- Must have existing relationships with numerous contacts
- Must have superior communication skills, including presentation skills
- Excellent time and budget management skills and experience working independently
- Results oriented
- Must be willing to travel extensively
- Series 6 or 7 and 63 licenses
- Basic understanding of alternative asset classes/foreign currency asset class
