We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst Intern to join our dynamic and growing team. As part of the Analyst Training Program, the recruit will rotate through our investment research, portfolio management, trade execution and trade processing teams. The recruit may be offered an opportunity to become a full-time employee at Merk Investments following the completion of the 3-month Analyst Training Program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze financial markets, monetary policy decisions, macro economic indicators, etc.
- Assist in developing models to test and optimize investment strategies.
- Assist in selecting securities to implement chosen investment strategies.
- Assist in processing trades.
- Assist in fulfilling SEC mandated filings and documentation.
- Participate in developing investment strategies, new products and investor outreach.
Requirements
- Recent graduate with a strong academic record at a top institution in economics, finance, mathematics and/or computer science, engineering or other science.
- 1-2 years work experience or internships in financial industry.
- Strong interest and understanding of alternative asset classes and capital markets.
- Impeccable math skills and advanced data analysis and computer skills.
- Ability to grasp and analyze complex data, interpret its meaning, and draw relevant conclusions.
- Experience with financial and economic analysis; ability to research and present investment recommendations.
- Ability to follow and document precise processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Foreign language skills and international experience beneficial but not required.
