What is Stagflation?

A condition of slow economic growth, stagnation, or a recession combined with, or accompanied by, a rise in prices or inflation. The term was coined in the 1970s when high oil prices lead to high inflation while salaries did not rise due to high unemployment and sluggish economic growth.
